City of Hallandale Beach
Implementation Plan
FY 2024-2025 Plan
The City of Hallandale Beach has developed a detailed plan for the allocation and utilization of opioid settlement funds, adhering to the requirements of Schedules A and B of the opioid settlement. The plan focuses on prevention programs, law enforcement and first responder training, and media campaigns to combat opioid misuse. Specifically, $28,125 is allocated for youth-based prevention programs through the Hallandale Beach Police Athletic League, aiming to engage youth in critical thinking and decision-making. Additionally, $8,100 will expand training and availability of Naloxone for city personnel and public access, while $35,000 is designated for media campaigns and community drug disposal programs, including hiring a social media consultant. The total settlement funds amount to $71,225, with Schedule A receiving $28,125 and Schedule B $43,100.
The implementation timeline spans across four quarters in 2025, starting with the launch of prevention programs and Naloxone purchases in Q1, monitoring and adjustments in Q2 and Q3, and culminating in the full implementation and evaluation of all funded programs by Q4. Regular monitoring and evaluation will ensure the effectiveness of these programs, with progress reports submitted to the oversight committee. This comprehensive approach aims to leverage strategic investments in prevention, treatment, recovery, public awareness, and law enforcement support to mitigate the impact of the opioid crisis in the Hallandale Beach community. The plan’s structured timeline and detailed allocation of funds to specific areas demonstrate a targeted effort to address various facets of the opioid issue, from prevention and education to emergency response and public awareness campaigns.
