City of Coral Springs
Implementation Plans
FY 2024-2025 Plan
The City of Coral Springs has outlined a comprehensive plan for the allocation and utilization of $220,190.88 received from opioid settlement funds for the fiscal years 2024-25. A portion of these funds, $51,155.82, has already been used, with the remaining $169,035.06 earmarked for specific strategies and approved uses as per the settlement’s guidelines. The bulk of the allocation, $154,000, is designated for Treatment and Recovery Support under Schedule A, focusing on expanding access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programs and recovery support services. This initiative involves partnerships with local health and wellness entities and includes the purchase of an outreach vehicle.
Additionally, $15,000 is allocated under Schedule B for a Public Awareness Campaign, specifically launching the G.R.A.D.E. initiative aimed at educating students about the risks of substance abuse. This campaign does not require additional hiring but will utilize existing personnel for its execution. The total distribution of funds is thus divided into $154,000 for core strategies (Schedule A) and $66,190 for approved uses (Schedule B), including the already utilized funds.
The implementation timeline spans the 2024-25 fiscal year, beginning with the launch of educational programs and partnership formations in the first quarter, followed by the expansion of MAT programs in the second quarter. The purchase of the outreach vehicle is scheduled for the third quarter, with the final quarter dedicated to the full implementation and evaluation of all funded programs. Regular monitoring and evaluation by program leads are planned to ensure the effectiveness of the initiatives funded by the settlement.
The City of Coral Springs aims to significantly mitigate the impact of the opioid crisis in the community through these strategic allocations and partnerships, aligning with the stipulations of Schedules A and B of the opioid settlement. This plan represents a targeted approach to addressing the opioid crisis by focusing on treatment, recovery, and public awareness efforts.
