City of Altamonte Springs
Implementation Plans
FY 2023-2024
The implementation plan for the City of Altamonte Springs intends to allocate and utilize funds in alignment with the requirements of Schedule A and B of the opioid settlement. This plan details the specific areas of focus and the amount of funds dedicated to each area, and any associated hiring, fixed capital outlay projects, and vehicle purchases. The plan also focuses on expanding access to treatment and recovery services, with funds dedicated to the Hope and Healing Center ($40,356.72), and coordinating with Law Enforcement and First Responders ($15,000).
The Seminole Collaborative Opioid Response Efforts (SCORE) Team is a county-wide rapid response group comprised of deputies and Altamonte Springs police officers who respond throughout the county any and every time there is a drug overdose. This response is separate from the criminal investigation component of the law enforcement response to an overdose, where officers work hard to hold drug dealers accountable and prevent future victims. The SCORE Team is an additional resource we implement to save lives. The SCORE Team offers counseling, medical, and a host of other resources for the person struggling with addiction, as well as their family members and loved ones. These programs and strategies align with the needs of the community and will be dedicated to eliminating the threat of opioid use complications in the community.
Regular monitoring and evaluation will be conducted to ensure the effectiveness of funded programs. Reports will detailing progress, outcomes, and necessary adjustments to the implementation plan. In conclusion, this implementation plan provides a comprehensive approach to utilizing the opioid settlement funds in a manner that aligns with stipulations of Schedules A and B. Through strategic investment in treatment, recovery, and law enforcement support, the City of Altamonte Springs aims to significantly reduce the impact of the opioid crisis in our community.
