Chris Dougherty has served on the Bradford County Board of County Commissioners since 2016 and is currently serving in his second term. In 2019 he was nominated by his fellow commissioners to serve as Chairman of the Board and served in the same capacity for three consecutive years. As a commissioner, Chris has completed the Institute for County Government (ICG) Certified County Commissioner, Advanced County Commissioner and Advanced County Commissioner Level II training programs. Other board appointments and community involvement include the Florida Association of Counties (FAC) appointment to the Statewide Council on Opioid Abatement 2023-2025, FAC Agricultural and Rural Affairs and the Health Safety and Justice Legislative Policy Committees 2022-2023, FAC at-large Board of Directors Representative 2022-2023, ICG Board of Directors 2023-2024, Small County Coalition Secretary 2023-2024, North Florida Economic Development Partnership 2016-2020, New River Solid Waste Association 2016-present, Vice Chairman for Career Source of North Central Florida 2019-2022, Santa Fe College Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Advisory Committee 2023, Capital City Bank Community Board Director 2017-present, Chairman of the American Values Dinner for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) North Florida Council 2017-2020, and Chairman of the Northeast Florida Builders Association Clay County Builders Council 2022.

Chris has been in the construction and engineering industry for the past 25 years. He is currently the Director of Business Development for ECS Florida, LLC. ECS provides environmental, geotechnical, construction materials testing and building code compliance services to the private and public sectors throughout Florida and the United States. His industry involvement includes memberships in the Northeast Florida Builders Association, the Builders Association of North Central Florida, the Building Industry Association of the Big Bend, the Florida Home Builders Association, National Association of Home Builders and the Urban Land Institute.

Chris currently resides in Bradford County with his wife Tiffany. They have two children, McKenzie (24) and Deklan (19). They enjoy outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Chris received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 1998 from St. Leo College.
